Search Engine Optimisation
Many website owners have spent a lot of money on SEO. In 2005 Zeald.com spent $10,000 on optimisation of their website to improve their Search Engine ranking.
Result - no change!
Then they loaded 100 articles about websites onto www.zeald.com
Result - visitor numbers went from 15,000 per month to 55,000!
Yes, it is important to have the right keywords and meta tags but that alone will not get your site on the first page of the Search Engines.
If you follow the strategies in the Web Plan that I develop for your website, you will gain a good ranking in the key Search Engine.
How can I be sure? Because that same strategy saw my babyboomers website achieve #5 in Google within 10 days of going online! And #1 after only one month. If you don't believe me - just punch in ''babyboomers'' into Google.
There is an absolutely sure way of doing this. Search Engine companies want one thing (well, apart from making a lot of money) - they want websites that answer the questions entered by their searching visitors. If they fail to do this, then people will change to another SE and they don't come back.
I first discovered how to get a good ranking with my trout fishing website: www.trout-fishing-new-zealand.com.
This has always ranked on the first page of the major search engines. This ranking was helped by a makeover by my mate Ben Kemp, TheSEOGuy but essentially the high ranking is because of another very simple reason. If you want to know what that is, then contact me here.
The quick appearance of my babyboomers website on the first page of Google was helped by the automated Site Map that is automatically generated by the Zeald.com software but the high ranking is due to another reason.
I have proved this by putting up other websites that did not use the same Search Engine fooling trick - they just did not rank as well.
It is important also to keep your website updated as a neglected website will fall in the Search Engine rankings. They send ‘spiders’ which are automated website checking software programmes to check websites every three months or so. Every time they find that your website has not changed, they will rank your website lower. If they visit your site three times and find it has not changed, they will delist it completely from their rankings. So you must refresh your website regularly to keep your ranking up there.
A friend of mine found that out when she was wondering why her website was not attracting many visitors. When I typed her name into Google, her website did not appear. Only by typing the website URL directly into the browser, could I find her website.
What had happened was that she had not updated her site for over a year. The Google spiders had visited the site three times over 9 months; found nothing new and decide dthe website was obsolete and had delisted the website!
So make sure you keep your website fresh. This will not only avoid the problem above but will keep your visitors returning.
