Content Loading on
Zeald.com websites
A testimonial from a client that used Zeald.com Content Co-ordination services:
"...I'm really pleased with the outcome of our site. I think Zeald did a fantastic job. I've got no regrets at all and am really happy that I came to you guys. The Support team are excellent and they are great at sorting out things quickly. I'd also recommend the Content Loading Service; Michelle Abercrombie came out to help me onsite, and I'd rate her a 10 - she was absolutely brilliant with her suggestions on how to lay out content and made very useful contributions to the content she was sent by me. Well worth the money..."

content loading services are designed to assist clients in both the initial and ongoing loading of content onto their website. Some clients don’t have the time or the resource to load their website content. Other clients don’t have the technical expertise to load their website (or at least don’t feel they have the technical expertise –the reality is content loading is very simple). Whatever the reason, Zeald.com content loading services are available to clients that need assistance with content loading.
Some clients use content loading to assist in the initial loading of content onto their website
. Other clients use content loading on an ongoing basis to assist in keeping their content up-to-date.
The first thing to understand about content loading is that there are two different types. Each one is explained below.
1. Simple Content Loading
Simple content loading is where the client provides either one or a number of word processing documents that contain the content required for loading laid out exactly how they want it to appear on the webpage. The content loader then loads the content exactly how it appears in the word processing document. Zeald.com is taking care of what is, essentially, an administrative task of taking content from one document and putting it into another and then testing to make sure the content looks how it appears in the word processing document.
The key thing to understand here is that the content loader does not look to design the page or change the layout of the page in any way from what is shown in the word document. The content loader is simply replicating the word processing document on the website. If the client wants an image to appear on the web page
then they need to demonstrate exactly where they want it in the word processing document. This type of content loading is the most common and is usually fine for most small businesses.
2. Designer Content Loading
Designer content loading is where the client provides the content and then a designer takes that content and designs and loads each page to ensure that each and every page looks fantastic. This type of content loading is usually ideal for the type of organisation that needs each and every page to have a top notch, designer type look. It is usually utilised by bigger firms where a designer look is extremely important and the website contains a relatively small quantity of pages. And as you would expect, the resulting website is always fantastic from a design point of view.
The second thing to understand about content loading is that it is priced in two different ways.
1. Casual Hourly Rate
This is designed for those organisations that just need a bit of content loading ‘here and there’. It is pretty simple in that the client sends some content loading to their account manager. The account manager then passes it on to the content loader who carefully tracks the amount of time they spend loading the content. The timesheets are then collated and sent to the accounts team and an appropriate invoice is subsequently sent to the client. This works very well for clients who need a reasonably small amount of content loading on an ongoing basis.
2. Bulk Content Load
Bulk content loading is designed for organisations that have a significant number of products or content pages that they need to get loaded onto their website. By committing to a larger amount of content loading, the client receives a discount on the normal content loading rates. The method work very well for clients who have a medium to large amount of content to load. If the organisation has an extremely large volume of content to load (e.g. many thousands of products) then they probably need the ‘Batch Product Uploader’. Click here to find out more about that.
The Process
The content loading process is pretty simple. Each of the key steps are outlined below.
1. Client orders some content loading – the client orders some content loading by filling out an appropriate Zeald.com order form and signing the Terms of Reference.
2. Account Manager requests content – the clients Account Manager then contacts the client to request the content.
3. Client send content to Account Manager – the client then provides all their content to the Account Manager. The Account Manager will not forward the content to a content loader until all content is received (see below under key limitations).
4. Account Manager forwards content to Content Loader / Designer – the Account Manager then forwards all the content to the Content Loader or Designer (depending on what type of content loading the client has ordered).
5. Content Loader / Designer loads content – the Content Loader or Designer then loads all the content.
6. Content Loader / Designer informs Account Manager – the Content Loader or Designer then informs the Account Manager that the job is complete.
7. Account Manager informs client – the Account Manager then informs the client.
Key Limitations
* All content must be provided prior to commencing content loading (bulk loading only).
The content loaders will not start a project until they have received all the content for the project. This is because the process quickly becomes incredibly inefficient when the content is being ‘drip-feed’ to the content loader.
* Content has to be provided in a certain format.
All content needs to be provided by the client in a Microsoft Word, Open Office or HTML format. Unfortunately we cannot accept content in the various other formats as content managers do not have copies of each every software package that a client might think of using.
* Content has to be laid out in the format required (simple content loading only).
If the client has purchased simple content loading then the content absolutely must be laid out in the format required. Our content loaders do not start taking creative license with the client’s content as this can start opening up a multitude of problems. If the clients would like Zeald.com to take their content and “make it look really good” then they are probably looking for our ‘Designer Content Loading’ solution.
* Changes made at a later date incur further charges.
Once the content has been loaded into the website, then any additional changes to the content incur additional charges. This is quite simply because more changes require more time which costs more money.
